Llorona is a play that tells a story of immigration. It follows the journey of a mother and her children immigrating to the United States, from the hardships it took for them to cross the border to the duality of detention facilities: showcasing true human empathy and cruelty. This modern adaptation of the grand legend of La Llorona to current political climates opens up a much-needed conversation about the reality of the silenced voices of immigrants.
