“an imperfect tune” a poem.

thanks for saying what you feel like you’re supposed to say

it’s not unlike you to want to say the right thing anyway

do you feel inclined or are you just scared that your silence could lead to a surprise?

everything now feels too devised

y’all should shut the fuck up more

or are your words making up for your actions, it’s an instant reaction

something like automatic wordplay

where your feelings go numb cause your thoughts are the reason you’re not okay

like a song that keeps running through your head, but you don’t even know the lyrics its just the melody playing over and over again

have you been there?

what’s it like? tell me how it feels when there's nothing to sacrifice

do you know where it is?

the promised land

a place where i don’t need to reach out cause i already know you got my hand

are you on borrowed time?

does it get boring not feeling like there’s always a catch 22?

where you felt like you was fifty before your frontal cortex ever grew

it’s almost malicious to put a soul inside the wrong body

do i sound ungrateful, im sorry

let me start again, but we do it this time without playing pretend

first you gotta promise not to get scared of me

i’m not a creature behind a mask, just responding based on how you planted the seed

you had no roots compared to me.

did i get a reaction out of you or do you still feel disconnected?

this storyline gave me the wrong impression, which means their might be something to prove

it’s not all the same note, the frequency has range

so tune me into the version where there’s no refrain
